Huntsville Real Estate Interview

By Interviewer at 12/04/07 23:54

Alabama, Real Estate: Seth Parker Name of your website?

Huntsville Real Estate

Your name?

Seth Parker

Your Location (city, etc)

Athens, AL

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My site is a great place for people relocating to our are to go and find everything they need to know about the Huntsville Metro Area.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

With the changing real estate market, it is imperative that we realtors keep up. A website in this business is a necessity.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

About three years ago, and it is the same now, as it was then.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Pretty simple really, just trying to keep some name recognition going.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I keep it updated more than my counterparts. I spend a lot of time updating and responding to comments, I'm very engaged with my audience.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To let everyone have one place that they are comfortable finding information about our local area.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It's an ongoing battle. I have a lot of time and money in this site, and I hope that it continues to grow like it has over the years.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Well, I would hire a pro to do everything. I know enough to get me by, but I would like to be able to add more features, and be more interactive.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

There really wouldn't be too much involved, mainly more time consuming.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting people there!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Submitting my site to good directories.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Not really.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I've had it for about three years, and I imagine that I will continue to run it for at least the next 10.

What is your website address?
