"Bulgarian Builders" are a Bulgarian Building company offering services to the British and European Market as well as the Bulgarian market. We offer a value for money service that compares to local prices for building work and we offer this service throughout Bulgaria.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We have a parent website www.bgope.com and have dealt in real estate within Bulgaria for several years now. We found that with the expansion of our building services that the company warranted a website of its own, to explain the services that we have tooffer to the public in greater detail.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our first website was launched in 2003 and was the original www.bgope.com a real estate company that we initially set up before we emigrated to Bulgaria in 2005. The website had a major face lift in the latter part of 2006 and is now a highy regarded website for Bulgarian Property and Bulgarian real estate. "Bulgarian Builders" has followed now and we also have other websites either in development or already developed.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We deceided that a simple name for our website would be the best alternative and that a name that anyone who was looking for a relevant website would remember easily. "Bulgarian Builders" was an easy choice really.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The website is simple and practical, it is in plain English, it shows work that we have completed already and work in progress. It is informative and easy to use and gives customers the opportunity to see what they are able to get for their money in Bulgaria. Its a great website and gives the potential client most of the information and details they need to make an informed decision on their choice of builder in Bulgaria.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We have a real estate company, a building company and also a used car sales company, so for now thats more than enough to keep us busy. Our goal will be to establish the company to a gerater degree and hand over the running of the business to our second in command. Dimitar Stoykov.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Our investments are still working well for us and I am sure will increase in years to come.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would change the site with a very few minor alterations, however we would find ways of increasing the development of the website I am sure.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. We have a team of workers and we could handle the pressure. We are always asked about employment opportunities and would be able to fill necessary vacancies both quickly and efficiently.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Fortunately no major ones, just the "red tape" involved with the beaurocracy in Bulgaria. All of which we handle for our clients.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Establishing eache new company, it is a long and hard job to do this with the website development and initial advertising etc.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
You can obviously pat for professional SEO and I suppose that initially this is a good idea, but as you learn morw abour websites, having developed 4 myself now, you start to realise there are other ways of advertising and promoting. BLOG's are great for this and help such a lot.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
As I said earlier, this one is new, so we wont know for a while, but websites are not the be all and end all and they should be treated as such. The long and short of it is that if you dont want to spend a lot on advertising, you wont get the customers.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
As I said its new and as an off shoot of www.bgope.com wll always be there. I wont close it down and if nothing else it is an excellent "Business card".
How do you fine the building business in Bulgaria.
"Bulgarian Builders" was formed as there is a definite need for quality builders in Bulgaria. I initially did noit intend to form my own building company and always used the services of other companies, however several headaches and bad builds later and I soon formed my own team. The problem is that the builders are OK in general, but finishing work and organisation is not a strong point in Bulgaria, so we formed our own company, now we are able to ofeer a fully competent service to all of our customers, without having to worry if the work is finished porperly! and we shall see where that leads us in the future.
