fsboll.com Interview

By Interviewer at 11/19/07 12:46

Name of your website?

fsboll.com

Your name?

MIchael Meroney

Your Location (city, etc)

Boynton Beach

Please give us a short summary of your website?

User friendly, feature rich, "For Sale by Owner" web site designed for serious buyers and sellers. This site is professionally tailored for buyers and sellers rather than an open forum for advertisers. I will continually work on making it better.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Motivated about helping others if successful. Having been in real estate for years in the past I wanted to use the FSBO format to develop a web presence.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is a new site and just in the launch phase.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was a mistake and still may be. I tried all variations of FSBO and no luck. FSBOLL was close to For sale by owner online and some know about the game played in sports bars. It's interesting to look at and that may be a hook.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I am limiting my advertising content and tailoring it specifically to buyers and sellers. I have limted the term to assure those searching that the content is current. No stale inventory or distracting ads.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To build this web site into brand. I think the name has poetntial to be a brand name in this sea of real estate web sites.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

To early to know.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would be do what ever it took to get close to the top of as many serach engines as possible then work on a national direct marketing campaign

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I have found that it is possible to out source a lot of work that would slow growth in a brick and mortar environment

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far. Its seems that just about everything is a little more than I have budgeted for but so far, no big suprises

What has been your biggest challenge?

Just getting started. This can be a little over whelming if one has no real experience but I always enjoy a good challenge. If it wont kill us we are supposed to get stronger. Right? ----Wrong?

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I am just in the process of testing.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Sitll to new to know.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Just starting and will run as long as possible. I hope to start seeing some growth in about 6-8 weeks

What is your website address?
