Name of your website?Hawaii Housing Real Estate Bubble
Your name?

Your Location (city, etc)
Honolulu
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Hawaii Housing Real Estate Bubble is a blog dedicated to the discussion of the impending housing crash and its economic effects on the Hawaiian Islands.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I started this blog to inform readers about the impending housing crash in Hawaii. I was clear back in 2003 that the nation was involved in an ever-expanding housing bubble however, the main media did not seem to report the clear and present danger of a housing bubble. The main media always seemed to be a step behing. This blog was set up to give readers in Hawaii an alternative source so they can make a good decision on real estate investements in the Hawaiian Islands.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
http://808housing.blogspot.com was my first and only website launched.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
(808) is the area code for the Hawaiian Islands so it was a perfect way to imbed it in the blog name i.e. 808housing.blogspot.com
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Hawaii does not bubble blog, in fact, one was started a few years back but has been dead. I'm continuing a niche that needs to be represented for the people of Hawaii.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to inform Hawaii citizens about the impending problems associated with real estate - that is it! I care about our people and would hate to see many of them lose their homes or buy houses that fall in value and put them in seriouc economic situations.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This is a give all and get nothing back proposition. I feel its important to help educate people though ... me being a teacher in Hawaii and all =)
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would create a website that had many more facets and sections to entice readers to come back again and again - not for advertisement purposes ... for active discussions and comments on the housing bubble in Hawaii.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I can't see this site getting really huge - but if it did I would thoroughly enjoy it! I love to respond to any comments made on my website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Getting my blog promoted is my biggest concern. I think I started a very positive site that is informative and professional. Getting people from Hawaii to notice or even find the blog has been the biggest headache for me thus far.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is getting people to come to my site and discuss the Hawaii housing bubble. Until my site makes its way up search engines, this is by far the biggest challenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Site like this one and forums are great opportunities to promote my site - THANK YOU!!!!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I think the website has exceeded my expectations however, the traffic coming to my site is still a major drag.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I began the site in May and will run the site for many years - even after the bubble bursts in Hawaii.
Is this the beginning of something big?
I sure hope so - aloha and thank you1
