Selling and renting real estate properties in Budapest and the surrounding countryside of Hungary
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Our first website; renting properties for holiday accommodation in Budapest, caused quite a stir and we received a lot of enquiries asking about our experiences. My passion for Budapest meant that I was spending a lot of my time giving people advice on how to go about purchasing a property. I decided to have a website written, so people could log in and see for themselves

Our first website was www.BudArpads.com, launched in 2003
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our Company name is Hive Real Estate Ltd, so this is what we used.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Customer service and a lot of details about buying property in Hungary
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To expand, have many more properties for sale, increase profits and employ more staff
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Success is slow and finding suitable sales staff in Budapest is difficult. However, we are ambitious and will keep plugging at it as we know that success will come.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Open a shop front on the Andrassy Boulevard, with top quality staff and offer exceptional service
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, we would as I would employ staff from the UK, who were happy to work in Budapest
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None,apart from the horendous cost of pay per click advertising.
What has been your biggest challenge?
To find enough quality properties to advertise on our website
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Pay per click advertising
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Having had experience with our other site at www.BudArpads.com. we were fully aware of the work involved in writing and promoting a new website
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
About one year and we will continue for as long as it takes
Would you recommend that people invest in property in Hungary
In 2003 property prices were increasing at quite an alarming rate. However today these increases have slowed down. For those looking for a long term investment, I would advise them to buy now why the market is slow as they will be able to get a very good deal and as long as they are not looking for a quick turnaround they will make money on this type of investment.
