Kansas market conditions Kansas City Real Estate Resource Interview
Name of your website?

Kansas City Real Estate Resource

Your name?

Casey & Jennifer Johnson

Your Location (city, etc)

Johnson County

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Here you can find all the information you will need if you are thinking about buying or selling a home. We even give you information on how to sell your home yourself! You can search available homes, get the local market conditions, get pre-approved for a home loan and so much more.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We wanted to provide consumers with a place to get everything they would need to start the home buying or selling process all in one place.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is our first website. We launched in in May 2007 and have had great success with it ever since. Now we are just working on adding more and more useful information to assist our customers.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We wanted it to be simple and concise.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We are probably some of the only real estate agents that will actually try to help people sell their home on their own, for FREE!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We will keep our website for as long as we are in real estate, which we plan on doing forever!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is worth every penny! We truly love what we do and love helping people. It is so rewarding to hear people tell us that the information we gave them on the website was just what they were looking for.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would probably hire someone to help me add more content and maybe change the layout. We did all of this ourselves, so it would be nice to have some help in the future, just to improve what we have already started.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Definently! We always have time to help our customers. And if we felt we needed help, we would hire more assistants to take over other tasks that would allow us to stay involved with our clients.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Honestly, it has been wonderful creating the site. It has definently been a learning experience, but all well worth it.

What has been your biggest challenge?

There have been a few times that I have pressed a few wrong buttons when making the site and deleted a lot of information that had not been saved, so I would have to start over.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Placing our site on local websites, advertising it in all our emails and mailers, and submitting our site to various web directories.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

We have been pleasantly surprised with the response we have recieved from people. We even had a lady that called us and thanked us for our website and for being so honest in the information we provided. Where many realtors will avoid difficult questions, we answer them honestly and directly, even if it isn't what the person wants to hear.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We will most definently keep our site going. We are here to help people interested in the real estate market. Our website is not our only way of getting business, so it really doesn't matter how much profit we make from it. We designed it to be a tool to our clients and the public. Our main goal is to serve!

What is your website address?
