My website is a source of information and homes for sale in Kansas City, Johnson County, and Overland Park.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

In the Real Estate business, web exposure is very important when promoting your sellers homes.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2001 I helped launch my prior companies website

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was easy, I wanted something that had my own name in it and Michael Pierce Real Estate was available.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I continueally update my site and blog with new and pertinent information about the local market.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Continue to provide a great source of Kansas City Real Estate information.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I currently spend a lot of my time with my business. Now that I have a newborn baby, I need to balance my work and personal time more evenly.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire people to maintain and update my website

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I would have to just learn to adjust as needed. I would be happy to have that problem to solve.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Just time costs mostly, It is very time consuming to continually update your site and keep it full of good information.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Managing time between real estate selling and marketing, and keeping my website fresh.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Blogging and getting my site optimixed with search engines

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is not, I have done it for a few different sites so I knew what to expect

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

ThHis particular site is about 4 months old but I have been running other real estate websites for about 7 years.
