Thousands of Detroit residents appeal to reduce property taxes

As Michigan's realty market continue to slide this year, thousands of Detroit residents appealed to the local board of tax review to reduce their property taxes, claiming that their properties had been assessed way below their actual values.

However, assessors warned that some residents might even see their property taxes increased this year due to quirks in the law.
