In Moroco, slum areas are being cleared since 2004 and Housing Minister Taofiq Hejira aims to clear the same numbers cleared last year totaling to some 30 towns with about 50,000 shacks.
The lands cleared of the slums is offered to developers cut-priced if they would sell some floors of their apartments to slum families below the market price.
King Mohammed aims to construct 130,000 low cost housing units($1.83 million) by 2012 and several firms with the help of the country's biggest real estate developer Addoha which will focus on low-income housing
