Northeast Region home sales had the steepest drop in the country

Prices for homes in the Northeast, which includes the region that spans from New Jersey and Pennsylvania through Maine, fell 14.7% from the same time period last year.

No surprise, as every other housing market in the country is telling the same tale of woe.

Yje Northeast did poorly compared to the West Coast, where sales were flat, prices were down, but overall sales were up 29%. That is partly due to the fact that there were a lot of attractive prices for homes in trouble.
