When did you start your website and why?
I started my website in June, 2007 to make information available to the public about Real Estate in Ontario.

From my site, you can specify the type of property you're looking for, and it will be sent immediately to your inbox, free of charge. I'm offering anyone thinking of putting their home on the market, a FREE Home Market Evaluation. Local information is also available, such as the controversial Wind Turbine Project being errected in Melancthon Township. The viewers have the option to comment and have their comments posted on the website.
How do you determine the list price of a home for sale?
Comparative Market Analysis is used. Recent sales of similar properties, in similar areas are used to compare, to see what buyers were willing to pay for a similar property.
How will my home be marketed?
Online advertising, such as trudybeck.com, remaxwest.com, mls.ca. Print advertising, such as local newspapers, and lawn signs. Property information sheets detailing the highlights of your home will be created and distributed to potential buyers upon request and at open houses.
How can I get the best price for my home?
I highly recommend Home Staging. Professional decorators come into your home, make suggestions on "decluttering" and rearranging of possessions, cleaning and repainting tips. Furniture, pictures, decorations etc can be rented from the home stagers. These suggestions, when taken can maximize the price you get for your home.
Who maintains your website and why?
I do. I enjoy being creative and keeping in touch with the people who visit my website. Any suggestions that they request, I do my best to implement.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
I received an overwhelming response of almost 500 viewers in the first 2 weeks, which is incredible, considering I hadn't even begun to advertise the website yet.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
We have to make ourselves available on the internet, otherwise we will get lost and not succeed. The world has turned to technology, so those who use it to their advantage will succeed.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Great, if it works. For example, I "google" pretty much everything. Hopefully I've optimized my site well enough to be "google-able".
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Search Engines most certainly do help. I use them myself, for pretty much everything. So, naturally I want people to be able to find my website through the same type of search.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I'm published on many online business directory websites. I have optimized my site on Google, Yahoo and MSN. All my printed advertising has my website on it, ie: business cards, lawn signs, newspaper advertisements, posters, mail-outs etc.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
I believe the combiniation of all methods has proved to be very successful.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
A perfect world would consist of Parents no longer worrying about what their children might see when accessing the internet. It's an incredible tool, and it's such a shame to see it defiled in such ways. Let's all work together to keep our children safe!
