What inspired you to launch your own website?
The need reach the ever growing section of public that utilises the internet as their initial search for services and suppliers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was over 15 years ago, and it was personal only - midis, artwork, poetry, 'pretty' pages. This is the first business website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Its my business name. But it had to be shortened to save propsective clients from carpel tunnel, not to mention missing the site through typing errors.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We offer a highly personalised service. All our staff are qualified within the industry, and even the firm itself is currently in the process of receiving industry recognised qualifications for its ooperational standards.
The other issue is that while we recognise the need to spend money to maintain standards, we know that good negoitiating can give you a service similar in quality to the higher priced offerings.
The final area which separates us form so many is that we are not looking for "cheap fixes" for the properties. We are looking to utlisie advances in technology which support the envornment AND give financial benefits to owners.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To help the business grow andbe a leader in setting the standards which condominium owners can expect from their management.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
In many ways its an investment of love. Success can be measured in how many poeple you have helped on any given day - its not always financial (but - and I bet the tress are thankful, money doesn't grow on trees - can you imagine the hordes that would be convergin on every tree if it did?)
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would immediately add all the comunity blogs and newsletters to foster a feeling of community within each complex.
We would also have sections devoted entirely to issues such as home owners rights, the environment, changing legislation, and world issues - all in the hope of helping people to become better educated about their immediate and global environments.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The need to use different hosting/writing environments to meet fulfill the services of the website (ie: interactive forms dont do well on bloggin sites)
What has been your biggest challenge?
The aesthetic components of a website.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
directing people to it from direct contact.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Site is new - but it will stay up as long as we are in business - regardless of whether we have increased traffic.
