Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our site is designed to help people sell their homes fast. We buy homes from people in a way that allows them to move on quickly with their lives. We then create opportunities for others to own a home. These types of people would include ones that have proven work history, have proven that they can pay on time, but may not have a huge down payment or the type of credit to get a Class "A" mortgage.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The internet has become the king for advertising. The key to reaching as many people as possible is showing them the value that one can bring to the table. A website allows you to show more people the value at a better rate than traditional advertising methods, thus allowing us to offer more value with our products.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Our company is focused on giving the customer education to make an "educated" decision. On our site, we offer a lot of tools and information that many other companies just don't offer. Of course, we want to buy houses, sell them, and make money. However, we feel it is more important to educate the customer, give them decisions and REALLY help them solve their problem. As you can see on our site we offer a lot of tools that take you away from our site, but we are ok with that because the service we provide will come back in the end by referrals and word of mouth.
What is your eventual goal?
Our goal is to help as many people across America accomplish their goal of selling or buying their home in a way that will save them time and money. Sellers recieve more for their property, while buyers can move in quickly without all the normal bank lender procedures. We can typically close a deal in 7-14 days. We currently work mostly in Pennsylvania, but hope to venture in to more territory in the future.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We actually would not change the site. We would just have our updates and minor changes take place sooner. Our site is not designed to be one of those hard to read pages full of keywords that webmasters typically build just to get to the top of the search engines (you know, the ones that you key in a word or phrase, find the site and find out it has nothing to do with what you want). Our site is easy to read and navigate, gets right to the point and our customers can get on and off quickly. Most sites use text links nowadays to speed up searches and move them up the ranks on the pages. Don't you find it hard to find where you want to go with all those little hard top read text links? We use images that are clear and to the point. It takes a little longer on dial up, but most people are on high speed now.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We would certainly be able to keep up with anything that comes our way. We are trained professionals in our area of expertise. If the demands got too high, we would bring aboard more employees to help out. We know what we are looking for in specific areas and can have positions filled quickly.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge when you are working in creative real estate is getting the first seller to sell you their house when you don't have a big name yet. Building trust with the people you work around is the most important part of our business because this is a big investment for the seller themselves; possibly the biggest of their lives. Many real estate agents won't even think of working with you until they find out that you were serious the first time you met. Later they all come back to you looking to make their commisions that they should have been making all along.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Obviously, everyone goes to search engines. But the problem is, there are so many out there that are gonna use the same keywords as you. Sometimes you will never get in the rankings if you want to build a quality site. As I said earlier, most of the site are hard to read and just full of keywords to get their site to the top. We've found it better to USE our image links, make our site readable and easy to navigate. Why use a site map when everything can be right at your fingertips? Do most people know what a site map is anyway? We target market our site in classifieds, search specific search engines, myspace and through affiliates. We also have designed a tool on our site that gives other investors in other regions a chance to get a link from our site to theirs in exchange for a link back to our site. We only allow one investor per area so that it gives more value to having the link.
