investing-in-properyt.com Interview

By Interviewer at 06/13/08 00:17

Name of your website?

investing-in-properyt.com

Your name?

Emil Emilov

Your Location (city, etc)

Brisbane

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My personal collection of witty articles all around investing in real estate. Simple explanations on how to select, finance & rent out the right property and much more.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I'm interested in investing in property. I consider real estate to be the best and safest investment around. Since I read a few books on the subject I thought I'd share that knowledge.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Hehe, it was my personal home page back at the uni. Say 13-14 years ago. It's not online anymore because it is somewhat embarassing ("Hi my name is... My hobbies are...").

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I checked what domains were available and I was surprised to find that investing-in-property.com still was. So I snatched it ;)

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Well, it's simple and no blinking annoying banners. The articles are easily accessible and easy to read.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for income (if it even makes some).

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

The site is new, so I'm still waiting for the success ;). I've put quite a bit of work in it as you will see.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

That's the thing, I don't think that the latest ajax & tech mumbo jumbo will improve it much. I like it as it is.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Oh sure, I'd like to have that problem ;)

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing much so far. Submitting articles & the site to directories manually is a pain.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The fact that it's my first website of this sort. It's tough to remain motivated at times.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

That remains to be seen. I've put it in a few directories so far. We'll see how we go.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been online for a week now. I'm currently still enjoying it so it's hard to say.

What is your website address?
