Name of your website?

SingaporeRealties

Your name?

Matthew

Your Location (city, etc)

Singapore

Please give us a short summary of your website?

SingaporeRealties is a free real estate classifieds website with full search features. Users are able to post property listings for free, including photos!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The real estate property is a growing market. There are too many potentials out there now and we need to have a true Singaporean's website to represent Singapore's real estate.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This site was launched late last year. A fairly new site but with vast potentials.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It came in naturally into my mind. Realty refers to real estate, but I wanted realties to have that unique factor.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It offers a fully searching engine with listing details such as photos and many more. Most importantly, its services are totally free.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To be a recognised portal that represents real estates in Singapore. There is no intention to sell it, but probably to keep it for some income to pay the hosting and domain fees.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Commitment is very important towards success. I believe that every business startup is difficult and it is inevitable to commit 101% of your time into it. Money wise, it is only the hosting and marketing to worry about.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I will probably include several more features such as full length feature video of the property, video downloads, and many more. Of course to also invest more on marketing with big companies.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

To be swift and decisive is the key. I will purchase my own server and rent a rack space in a datacentre so that I can expand and upgrade it as and when required.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Marketing, expensive advertisements, traffic building.

What has been your biggest challenge?

SEO and traffic building.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

By building inlinks and placing ads.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

To be frank, I am not expecting much for a start. I am just concentrating on traffic building.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

8 months. I intend to keep it up and running for a minimum of 5 years.

Why choose real estate?

Real estate is a popular topic everywhere in the world. There are times when I find it particularly difficult to locate properties in singapore. With the help of an eportal, I hope it can become the central focus of real estate in Singapore.

What is your website address?
