Please give us a short summary of your website?
A commission free property website, with properties for sale by owner. Giving international web marketing to acchieve maximum results. we also provide keyholding sevices, mortgage sevices, currency exchange sevices and traditional viewing services for absent property owners.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The ridiculous amounts of commission agents charge here in Spain inspired me to create a site where owners could cut out the middle man and sell their property themselves.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This website is my first and it was launched late last year.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We decided on SmartSell because it is the smart way to sell your property.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
I dont know of any similar offerings in this area.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To spread out the web site so that it covers the whole of Spain and then maybe other countries.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
At the moment i'm putting much more in than I get out but I believe in the concept of cutting out the Estate Agent and doing the job yourself efectively through our website.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Advertise more to get sellers aware of our fantastice service.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, because the owners log their properties on themselves, the site can pretty much manage itself.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Finding promotional staff that are as enthusiastic about the company as I am was very difficult.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Putting my years of estate agency experiance into words on the website was a real challenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I have found that web links and newspaper advertising are our best ways of attracting people to the site.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its been a lot slower than I first expected but I suppose I've always been an impatient person.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Its been going for 4 months, I would like to continue with it for the forseeable future or for as long as people need its services.

Smart Sell serives are onpen to anyone selling a property in spain. Any property, any price, anywhere in Spain. Its for people like me who feel 10% and 15% commission is far too high a price for the very little sevices a traditional estate agent provieds.
