Name of your website?Pigeonforgelots.com
Your name?
Jose Acosta
Your Location (city, etc)
Pigeon Forge
Please give us a short summary of your website?
I want to provide as much information as I can on my properties so the buyers who look at it will know what they need to make a decision.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
In my opinion there is too much BS surrounding the Real Estate business for buyers to trust what they are told. I look at the internet as an opportunity for a seller like myself to make direct contact and share true information with interested buyers and develop the level of trust needed for a purchase as important as one's home.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
April 2008, this is it.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I felt "Pigeon Forge Lots" said it all and would be the kind of thing buyers would be looking for.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I am the seller, I develop lots and build homes on them. I am the guy home buyers need to talk to directly.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I enjoy the work, I want to make money, and it pleases me to think that I am helping people to build thier "Dream Homes" in The Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I'm not getting rich, but I make a good living, and I have the best neighbors in the world.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would provide video flyovers and walk throughs so people who don't live in Tennessee can see what amazingly beautiful country my lots are in without having to travel all the way here first.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. There are hundreds of choice lots available here.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The Internet is like a game for money where the rules are constantly changing as you play. So you waste huge amounts of time and money on dead ends and con games.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning how to promote my site effectively.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
So far, Search Engine Optimization and building trust among my buyers.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I thought it would be easy to find thousands of interested buyers online, but it's more like trying to pin a fly to the wall with a Bowie knife.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Only a couple of months so far, I guess as long as it takes. Persistence pays.
How do you make contact with the exact people who are looking for you without wasting time and money?
Search engines should be the answer, but there is so much stuff out there it's like shouting in a room full of hundreds of other people who are also all shouting at the top of their voices, so in the end we only wind up drowning each other out.
