Your Location (city, etc)

Please give us a short summary of your website?
Isaan Realty is a site put together by my partner James Brown and I to promote our Isaan development project.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We love Thailand and the people who live there. We want to make enough from our Isaan project to move there permenantly. John is married to a Thai named Duanne. My girlfriend is also Thai. We have both spent many years in Thailand and throughout south East Asia.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
John and I launched our website www.globalchildaid.org three years ago. It is a website for our 501 c 3 childrens charity organization Llyons Court Charities Inc. We are currently accepting donations for a refugee center in the Isaan region as well as filing for Federal assistance for our For Child Sake project.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our real estate holdings are in the Isaan region of Thailand. So, Isaan-Realty seemed appropriate.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Well, I believe it is different because we are offering a unique opportunity for people, Epats in particular, to buy a piece of something in a place we all love and enjoy.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We plan on keeping it and improving it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Ask me that question in a year.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Probably we would go with more expensive software and a different server.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
If we weren't able to we'd bring in third party assistance.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Myriad.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Staying within our budget.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Free web ads.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
The process is more involved and slower than I expected. It takes a long time to get your name out there E ven with SEO packages and the like it's a struggle for name recognition.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
About 1 year. As long as it serves the need that it was created for.
Is running a real estate investment website challenging?
Yes, very much so. One problem we have had is weeding out the scammers from the real potential clients. This was a problem that we had not anticipated. To combat this we cross reference all email addresses and phone numbers against known scammer tagged emails over the internet. Also, before setting up meetings or the like we send out a packet to the potential client and wait for the buyer to contact us. Once the second contact is made and after we have the information we need from the client we proceed.
