Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our website includes links for our mission, description of property, rates, availability, area attractions, special info for crafters, guest comments, and picture galleries.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We wanted to make people aware of our property so that we could get some consistent rentals.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The Twin Maples website was launched in December 2005.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our home is on a small lake and two huge maple trees stand aside the deck facing the lake.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is newly constructed and has many architectural details. It wasn't designed as a business but as a type of ministry where people can come and enjoy nature, their families and friends, and numerous area activities.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We may eventually move there as we enjoy the time we are able to spend there. We have really enjoyed meeting our guests and are having fun doing this.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We are getting more and more bookings and that has helped meet the bills. We enjoy staying at Twin Maples ourselves and want to generate enough income to pay for it.
What has been your biggest challenge?
We have a gorgeous place to stay at and making people aware of it has been difficult.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We are listed with Great Rentals and many of our inquiries have come from there. We refer people to our own website from there.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
We have had numerous guests comment about that we have a great website...but also that it doesn't do justice to our place.
